ITC (Intensive Therapeutic Care) YOUTH WORKERS

We are looking for experienced Youth Workers for our ITC (Intensive Therapeutic Care) Residential Services in the Queanbeyan region. We care for young people in statutory Out of Home Care (OOHC) aged 12 – 18 years who can display challenging behaviours as a result of their histories of trauma and neglect.

You will be able to assist young people with complex care needs, who have experienced trauma and abuse impacting on their mental health and wellbeing. You will support clients in their day to day lives, promote independent living, teach life skills, assist them to work towards their goals and help integrate them into the community.

The successful applicants will need to have a minimum Certificate IV in Youth Work or other relevant tertiary qualification and relevant experience in OOHC, a variety of life skills, an understanding of the impact of trauma and abuse as well as the importance of self-care. Experience in working with Aboriginal people, communities and/or organizations is essential. Great mentoring and communication skills are essential. The salary range for this position is $36.83 – $40.01 per hour inclusive of casual loading plus 9.5% employer superannuation guarantee. Generous salary packaging benefits are available under Anglicare’s PBI status.

Applicants must obtain a Working with Children clearance through the Office of the Children’s Guardian (NSW), and undergo a National Criminal History Check prior to an offer of employment.
