About the organisation
Cranfield Catalyst is an exciting growth stage organisation providing pro-bono business consulting services to promising charities in Australia. While many charities in Australia make outstanding front-line contributions to their constituencies in need, they often need outside help in thinking through their strategy, organisational design, approach to IT, financial management, fundraising and other “business” topics. Our impressive roster of committed volunteer consultants (recruited from both the private and public sectors and working part-time on our client projects) provide truly valuable service to our client charities.
Modelled on and actively supported by the highly successful Cranfield Trust in the UK which has enjoyed 30 years of outstanding success, Cranfield Catalyst has so far completed 5 projects for client charities, recruited a highly capable and experienced Board of Directors and initial management team along with a strong roster of volunteer consultants, and established a strong partnership with Central Queensland University’s Social Innovation and Enterprise clusters.
About the role
Cranfield Catalyst is now seeking a CEO to lead the organisation through the next stage of growth and development, including scaling the management team, volunteer consultants roster, and client charity consulting service activities. Critical to achieving these goals will be leading the effort (in partnership with Board members) to raise funding to support the organisation’s objectives.
This is a voluntary role in the near term, with potential to develop into a salaried position once funding is secured. Alternatively, it could be viewed as an interim role that would last until funding is secured and a permanent (salaried) CEO successor is in place. The role can be performed part-time with a high degree of flexibility in terms of hours and location and would suit someone who is looking to apply their management and leadership skills in the public interest while building an important organisation in the Australian charitable sector.
