About the role

Location: Adelaide
- Full-time Contract 12 months
- Based in various sites within metro Adelaide
- Contribute to making a difference in the lives of adults and children living with a disability or mental health issues
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for an experienced Developmental Educator to work within our Outreach Therapy Team. You will use your experience and expertise to support and provide guidance to customers, families, staff and other professionals who are involved in the support of the individual.

What do you need to bring?
- A Bachelor of Disability and Developmental Education (or equivalent degree) and a current professional registration
- Experience working with children, young people and adults living with a disability, mental health issues, or high and complex needs
- High level knowledge of the National Disability Insurance Scheme
- Sound knowledge and experience in developing and implementing behaviour support plans
- Proven experience and knowledge identifying/ reducing and eliminating the use of Restrictive Practices
- Proven experience and understanding of the NDIS Safety and Quality Commission including reporting requirements
What can you expect to be doing?
- Undertaking developmental and functional behavioural assessments
- Developing and implementing Positive Behaviour Support plans
- Monitor and review Behaviour Support plans
- Facilitate training sessions in behaviour management strategies
- Teaching functional life skills including social, communication, self-care, daily living, recreation, and employment
- Facilitating self-advocacy and / or advocate on behalf of people with disabilities
- Writing and submitting detailed comprehensive reports
