Excelsia College has attained Self-accrediting Authority and is on a trajectory to achieve Australian University College status.

About the role

The Role

This is an opportunity to be an integral part of the College’s vision to making a better world through active participation in a life-transforming global Christian learning community.

Reporting to the CEO, and working with the senior management and academic team, the Director of Quality is responsible for the following:

  • Providing strategic leadership for the governance of quality and standards, working with senior staff to ensure the implementation of the Higher Education Standards Framework at every level of the College’s operations, and providing training and advice as needed
  • Managing the monitoring, measuring and reporting of institutional compliance and quality assurance in all areas of the College’s operations, and to oversee the implementation and use of appropriate database and repository systems
  • Taking responsibility for College achievement against the Quality Assurance and Improvement Plan and the Benchmarking Plan, and to provide leadership for the maintenance of a culture of continuous improvement
  • Supporting the academic governance of Excelsia College through coordinating meetings of Committees comprising the Leadership and Governance Framework, assisting the Chairs with meeting and reporting schedules, and communicating with and between committees as needed to maximise the ongoing effectiveness of the Framework
  • Leading the Management Committee and Academic Leaders to ensure consistent development, approval, dissemination and implementation of policies and procedures, and systematic review of their effectiveness and maintaining the Quality Management System of the College
  • Taking responsibility for appropriate and timely submission of Excelsia applications for registration, course accreditation and professional accreditation as required for the provision of its higher education courses of study.

Key Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will ideally possess the following:

  • Committed Christian involved in a local congregation
  • Tertiary qualifications in Education or a discipline relevant to the College’s scope
  • Demonstrated 5 years’ experience in managing regulatory projects in a Higher Education or Australian higher education regulatory framework setting and a proven ability to work to keep projects on track
  • Demonstrated understanding of quality assurance, and the ability to provide leadership in the maintenance and documentation of standards and systems
  • Demonstrated high administrative skills with ability to progress and complete tasks;
  • Demonstrable experience as strategic thinker with proven ability to both prioritise critical goals and execute strategies in the successful achievement of goals within budget and time frame constraints
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work with clients and stakeholders
  • Excellent skills in written communication, and demonstrated experience in writing reports, submissions and policy documents
  • Demonstrated advanced computer skills, including a strong command of the Microsoft Office Suite 2010 including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word
  • Ability to organise and complete large documentary projects, provide leadership to participants, maintain a high level of attention to detail, accuracy and presentation, and take responsibility for timely submissions and management of records.
