The Victorian Responsible Gambling Foundation is a statutory authority, established in 2011. Our mission is to improve the health and wellbeing of Victorians by working with communities and government to deliver effective, evidence-based initiatives to reduce and prevent gambling harm and provide support for those seeking help. We take a public health approach to our work, which means we focus on prevention, early intervention and support for Victorians who are particularly vulnerable to gambling harm, including in outer metropolitan, regional and rural communities.

About the role

Sitting within the Prevention and Programs branch of the Foundation, the Prevention team undertake primary prevention initiatives and programs to address gambling harms in Victorian communities. Working within a public health framework, the team partners with diverse stakeholders and takes an innovative, collaborative approach to its work. The team delivers a range of statewide grants and settings based programs.

An exciting new vacancy exists for a Senior Prevention Partnerships Advisor to design, deliver and evaluate strategic partnership initiatives and other community prevention and early intervention programs for the Foundation.  As the first of its kind in Australia, this work is done in close collaboration with a diverse range of community stakeholders and aims to test and extend new ideas that reduce gambling related harms and build the evidence base around effective prevention practice. The role will be pivotal in funding partner organisations to ensure test performance and impact of initiatives and community programs, as well as providing authoritative advice to senior management and key stakeholders.

About you

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, experience and attributes:

  • well established knowledge and skills in the co-ordination of innovative health promotion programs and initiatives. 
  • demonstrable relationship and stakeholder management skills and experience
  • a tertiary qualification that incorporates health promotion, social policy, public health or community development
  • understanding of program evaluation frameworks and practices that monitor performance and demonstrate impact.
