BGF is Australia’s oldest community based HIV organisation committed to providing client-centred care to help people living with HIV (PLHIV) to thrive.

Founded in 1984, BGF undertakes a range of supports that address issues of long-term social isolation and economic poverty for people living with HIV in NSW and SA.

Services include direct financial and practical assistance, financial counselling, community support services and programs for building resilience and self-management using a client-centred, strengths-based model of care.

About the role

About the position

 The Financial Counsellor is a key member of the Client Services team, and has responsibility for:

  • Provision of financial counselling services;
  • Program development;
  • Operational management;
  • Partner Relationship management.

 

About the benefits

The salary for this position is graded as 5 under the SCHCADS Award. The annual salary range this equates to is between $45K and $48K, based on .6FTE.

BGF further contributes to your superannuation at 9.5% of your annual base salary.

The organisation provides a flexible and supportive working environment that includes flexible working hours, leave loading and non-taxable fringe benefit salary packaging options. 

The position is offered as a permanent part-time role and is subject to a 6 month probationary period, with an immediate start.

About you

Ideally you will have the following skills and experience to offer:

  • Current accreditation as a Financial Counsellor with FCAN
  • Experience providing financial counselling services
  • Strong communication skills
  • Diploma of Community Services (Financial Counselling) or working towards.
