Social Ventures Australia (SVA) is a not-for-profit organisation that works with partners to alleviate disadvantage – towards an Australia where all people and communities thrive. We influence systems to deliver better social outcomes for people by learning about what works in communities, helping organisations be more effective, sharing our perspectives and advocating for change.

SVA’s Consulting team supports leaders to make hard decisions, galvanise teams to sustain success and share insights with the social sector. We have more than 40 staff in our consulting team with offices in Melbourne, Perth and Sydney. Since 2007, we have developed unique, on-the-ground experience supporting over 300 clients through 900 engagements. We work on society’s most challenging issues including housing, employment, education, mental health, disability, and Indigenous disadvantage.

The position
The Manager role is an important part of SVA’s consulting model. Working in teams, under the leadership of a Director or Principal, the Manager leads collaborative approaches to problem solving while ensuring effective, accountable project management on a day-to-day basis. Building strong client relationships and managing Consultants on key projects, Managers drive our work with clients to deliver data-driven analyses and powerful insights helping them identify solutions to their greatest challenges.
 
Who you are
We are looking for dynamic, self-driven individuals, able to think creatively in developing innovative solutions to complex problems. With a proven knowledge of project management principles, you will have a passion and commitment to working on society’s most important challenges. Managers joining SVA traditionally have foundational experience with a recognised strategy consulting firm blended with experience in hands-on operations and business development. Alternatively, you will have developed in another environment significant problem structuring and solving experience using strategic consulting firm tools to solve complex problems. A solid breadth of experience in client and stakeholder engagement, business development and project management will enable success in this role.
 
This unique role provides exposure to challenging and rewarding opportunities across the social sector working on society’s most important challenges. You will collaborate with a growing and highly committed team in SVA’s Sydney office with wide-ranging experience across the social sector. The focus of the Manager role will see you forging close relationships with inspiring clients, sector leaders, colleagues and stakeholders and provides a great foundation for professional growth and development.
