About the role
- Support Facilitator – Part-time 12 month contract
- Support Worker – Casual
- Multiple positions available in Holden Hill & Oakland’s Park
- Help support people living with a disability or mental illness
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic individuals to provide customer-focused support in both individualised and group settings. With a sound understanding of the physical, emotional, spiritual and social needs faced by people living with a disability or mental illness, you will encourage customers to achieve their goals.
You will have a genuine commitment to providing a high-quality service that offers choice, support and flexibility!
What do you need to bring?
- Current Senior First Aid and Child Safe Environments Certificates
- Flexibility to work across a 7-day roster and out of hours
- Previous experience responding to the needs of people living with a disability or mental illness
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build positive working relationships
Support Worker
- A minimum Certificate III in Individual Support (Mental Health or Disability) or relevant level certificate (essential)
Support Facilitator
- A minimum Certificate IV in Individual Support (Mental Health or Disability) or relevant level certificate (essential)
- Capacity building experience assisting individuals to develop their skills and achieve their goals
- Ability to build relationships with other service providers, facilitating a holistic service approach
What can you expect to be doing?
- Providing high-quality support to address psychosocial, personal care and daily independent living needs
- Continuously assessing customer needs and adapting support as required
- Creating a positive and supportive environment that empowers customers and their carers
Additional Support Facilitator responsibilities
- Assisting young people and adults to build their capacity and reach their goals and aspirations
- Leading group activities and mentoring other support staff on developed strategies
- Liaising with other service providers to provide a rounded and consistent support
