About the role

UMFC is a vibrant and diverse organisation dedicated to empowering vulnerable children and their families

We currently have a vacancy for the above full-time (part-time negotiable) ongoing position in Child & Family Services (CAFS) working across both Wodonga and Wangaratta.

The CAFs team provides intake, assessment, onward referral and case work options to vulnerable children and their families.

The Therapeutic Advisor works collaboratively with CAFs Team Leaders to guide and support staff interactions with children and young people and their families. The role provides specialist expertise, case consultancy, therapeutic leadership and the promotion of reflective and evidence based practice.

For this role it is essential that you have the following:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications – Social Work, Social Science;
  • Extensive experience in child centred, family focused case work practice including a knowledge of underpinning legislation, frameworks and models;
  • The ability to provide case workers with therapeutic leadership, specialist expertise, case consultancy, and the promotion of reflective and evidence based practice;
