The Australian Community Workers Association is the professional association for tertiary qualified community work practitioners. It is a membership organisation, the purpose of which is to ensure that members benefit from belonging to a profession that is widely recognised and valued in the community. ACWA is based in the Melbourne CBD
ACWA has four categories of membership:
- Student membership
- Provisional membership
- Full membership
- Life membership
ACWA is also a skill assessing authority for Department Home Affairs.
As an assessment officer you will work with other team members to assess skills of those wishing to demonstrate that they meet the eligibility criteria for membership or wishing to demonstrate that they have the qualification, skills and industry experience for migration purposes.
In your role you will need:
- a tertiary qualification in community or human services
- a good knowledge of and experience in the community sector
- an understanding of the AQF
- good time management skills
- an ability to prioritise workloads
- to enjoy working in a small team.
