Board of Directors
Permanent Care and Adoptive Families (PCA Families) delivers peer support, therapeutic programs and advocacy informed by strong lived experience and research. Funded through the Victorian Department of Human Services to deliver the Permanent Carer Helpline and Flexible Funding Program, we also seek philanthropic funds to deliver broader support to and with our community such as:
- Peer Support and Community Capacity Building
- Parenting programs
- Children and Youth Programs
Our Purpose:
Every child deserves a family that loves and supports them. Trauma, grief, loss and attachment are issues all permanent care and adoptive families face. Our families are committed to helping their children thrive and so are we.
As the ‘go to’ organisation for the community, PCA Families delivers peer support, therapeutic programs and advocacy informed by strong lived experience and research.
Board Role
We are seeking an experienced and committed person with a background working with NFP Boards or Committees with good understanding of governance and financial literacy. You should have a passion for making a difference for families and children. Lived experience of foster care/permanent care/kinship care or adoption would be desirable. Fundraising and or marketing and communication skills particularly valued.
It is an exciting time for PCA Families, so we need someone who aligns strongly with our mission and is keen to join the journey. At a minimum, Board members should expect to participate in approximately 8 Board meetings per annum, a Board subcommittee, review of Board papers and policies, and potentially representing the organisation at external meetings.
This is a voluntary, unpaid position.
