About the role

About the opportunity

Our Reconnect program uses community-based early intervention services to assist young people aged 12 to 18 years (12 to 21 years for newly arrived youth) who are homeless, or at risk of homelessness, and their families.

The Case Worker is responsible providing effective case work to young people and their families to assist reconciliation between young homeless people, or those at risk of homelessness, and their family.

The Case Worker will have the ability to apply a range of interventions, including individual and family support, counselling, and mediation.

Additionally, the role will include facilitating early intervention groups to prevent youth homelessness in collaboration with schools and other services.

About you

As an experienced case worker, you will have demonstrated skill in the following areas:

  • Undertaking strength based assessments and needs analysis
  • Developing intervention plans
  • Working with clients to bring about change

You will have an in-depth understanding of the issues involved in casework with young people, children and their families. With previous experience in working with dis-empowered and vulnerable people, you will have a strong capacity to establish effective helping relationships, in particular with culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
