RACR delivers services such as counselling, mediation, casework, mental health and specialist family and domestic violence programs for families, couples and individuals to communities throughout ACT, and regionally in South West and Southern NSW areas.
About the role
An opportunity for a community minded, dedicated and skilled clinical leader to lead a team of counselling professionals supporting families and communities in a highly regarded not-for-profit organisation in the Canberra and surrounding region.
Reporting functionally to the Director Operations and clinically to the Director Clinical Governance, as the Counselling Manager, either based in Canberra or Wagga Wagga, you will be responsible to provide leadership to the counselling team while supporting the clinical governance processes of RACR. The role is expected to develop, maintain, and manage the quality of the therapeutic practice and services offered by the organisation. Therapeutic services refer to any counselling, relationship education, and specialised family violence programs delivered by RACR. It also refers to any group work, casework or project that operates as a therapeutic service or any therapeutic work undertaken by RACR.
To be successful in this role, you are required to possess:
- An appropriate tertiary qualification in, social science, social work, psychology, counselling, clinical work or a related area.
- Relevant experience in supervising a counselling team and providing leadership in delivering a range of services for individuals, children and young people, couples and families.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the drivers, contributing factors, assessment and risk management relevant to family and domestic violence.
- Ability to demonstrate a broad theoretical approach and demonstrated experience and skills in counselling/ clinical practice including the use of a systemic framework.
