For some, that’s completing Year 12 and for others, that’s a PhD from Harvard. Aurora is shifting the paradigm about what is possible for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians. Aurora programs are long-term, independently evaluated and outcome driven.
Aurora has achieved considerable growth in the last few years and is set to develop and scale further. The newly-created role of Finance Manager is designed to facilitate this growth by through effective financial management, controls and collaborative relationships with program staff.

The Role
In this role you will be working closely with managers in a financial advisory capacity, with a view to ensuring effective and efficient delivery of financial support for all entities and programs. The role also oversees all day-to-day transactional services with functional responsibility for accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll. You will collaborate widely with staff across the organisation as well as external stakeholders to enable effective financial performance at all levels.
Success measures in this role include:
- Quality and timeliness of financial reporting, analysis and advice
- Efficiency and accuracy of transactional services
- Compliance with all statutory obligations
- Feedback from internal and external stakeholders
- Contribution to team dynamics
Skills Required
You’re collaborative, partnering and consultative approach to your career will be essential, combined with your experience in communicating complex financial information to a range of audiences verbally and/or in the form of quality, concise reports. You have aminimum of five years finance and accounting experience, including audit, and analysis including gathering, evaluating, presenting, and reporting financial information to management.
Commercial and business awareness with an understanding of corporate structures would be welcomed.
