Veritas House is a vibrant, not-for-profit, community-based organisation with a specific focus on supporting vulnerable children, young people and their families.
About the role
We are looking for passionate people to join our service in Bathurst and Orange.
These are permanent part time positions for 2.5 days per week, working on Wednesday afternoon and all day (9am – 5.06pm) on Thursdays and Fridays. We’re looking for workers who can commit to being rostered on for a regular 2.5 hours of day-time work and have the flexibility to cover additional shifts at other times (including on weekends and for sleepovers) as requested and agreed. These positions are based in Orange and Bathurst.
Our Residential Youth Workers assist young people in crisis accommodation:
• Providing supervision and support to young people at risk of homelessness
• Planning and facilitating options with clients to meet each young person’s needs
• Providing emotional and practical support
Young people may exhibit trauma, behavioural and other issues or challenging interpersonal skills – these are incredibly rewarding positions that can make a difference to a young person’s future.
