Launch Housing has an ambitious and singular mission to end homelessness. We aim to get people housed, keep them housed, and be an influential voice on ending homelessness. Launch Housing is a secular, independent provider of choice for clients and the ‘go-to’ organisation on homelessness for government, media, philanthropy, private donors and the community.
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Outreach Worker to join the Rough Sleeper Initiative team, which is aimed at assertively engaging with and supporting people sleeping rough in the inner metro. This program responds to people who are hard to reach, entrenched and who may have complex needs.
The Outreach Worker will work closely with several service providers to deliver an assertive and persistent street-level approach to outreach in order to identify, engage and work with clients to achieve sustainable outcomes; primarily rapid access to housing and intensive support, to assist clients to settle into their housing.
The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, take accountability for their work outcomes and be able to form and maintain strong relationships; all essential ingredients to working collaboratively with clients and other organisations to achieve common goals.
In return, you will be offered a competitive salary with salary packaging available and generous staff benefits such as additional leave days and the chance to contribute to the positive and supportive culture at one of Melbourne’s largest housing and homelessness organisations.
Working in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team that uses innovative housing practices, this exciting and challenging position offers applicants the opportunity to build and empower the lives of people experiencing homelessness.
