About WAGEC

The Women’s and Girls’ Emergency Centre (WAGEC) is a non-government, not-for profit charitable organisation that delivers a range of crisis and early intervention accommodation and support services to women, children, young people, and families who are experiencing, or at risk of homelessness and/or domestic and family violence.

We have operated in Sydney’s inner city and inner west for over 40 years. We currently deliver our Families Service through an alliance with the St Vincent De Paul Society, Jewish House and Stepping Out. Other WAGEC activities are delivered in partnership with community, business and government stakeholders.

About the role

The Volunteer & Events Administrator is responsible for overseeing the volunteer experience and administering WAGEC’s signature fundraising and community events. You will be a champion of volunteering within WAGEC.

The core responsibilities of this role are:

  • Review WAGEC’s volunteer program and integrate it across the organisation
  • Administer the delivery of the volunteer program
  • Administer signature WAGEC events that support our community engagement and fundraising activities
  • Actively contribute to WAGEC’s organisational culture

About You

To excel in this role, you will have experience in volunteer programs, events and maintaining stakeholder relationships. You will be self-motivated and able to prioritise competing tasks whilst maintaining your attention to detail. You are a people-person and know how to get things done with others.  You want to contribute your professional skills to creating a safer future for women and families.

This role is classified as SCHADS 4. It is a 12-month, full time, fixed term contract.
