Summary of program and its objectives:
Situated within the Research and Policy Centre the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) unit is responsible for advancing the BSL’s mission to effect systemic policy change by creating an internal evidence base to investigate the effectiveness of innovations in service delivery and program development.
Main responsibilities of the role:
To meet the selection criteria, candidates will require:
- Relevant tertiary qualification and / or specialised training in a field with an emphasis on quantitative data analysis (such as economics, sociology or other social science, statistics, public policy, computer science)
- A working knowledge of applied statistics / econometrics
- An understanding or capacity to quickly acquire understanding of the not-for-profit sector and the areas in which the BSL works
- Knowledge of relevant ethical data practices and codes ensuring privacy and confidentiality
- An awareness of the current debates and emerging practice in data analytics and their relevance to community service organisations and social policy
- A minimum two to three years post graduate experience in a related role
- Demonstrated experience extracting, integrating, cleaning, transforming, and analysing data using tools such as SQL, R, Python, Stata, SPSS
- Demonstrated experience reporting on quantitative data to inform decision-making, especially in constructing and managing interactive reports using business intelligence and data visualisation tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, Domo
- Demonstrated experience establishing and maintaining business intelligence data workflows, routines and standards
- Strong writing skills including an ability to synthesize and translate complex and / or technical information to a diverse range of stakeholders
- Demonstrated project management and organisational skills, including the ability to plan workload, prioritise and meet deadlines
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills to build effective relationships, advise and liaise with a broad range of people across all levels
- Ability to work autonomously and effectively as part of a team to achieve outcomes
- An understanding of and empathy with the values and ideals of the Brotherhood
- Integrity, maturity and strong personal and business ethics combined with sound judgement and a commitment to transparency and accountability
- Highly collaborative. Engages others to achieve common goals; has a spirit of teamwork and supports staff.
- A curious and open mindset and critical attention to detail.
This is a full time position working 38 hours per week based in Fitzroy.
Salary will be in the range of $81,289.08 - $85,196.82 per annum, based on skills and experience plus superannuation. Attractive salary packaging provisions are available to increase take home pay.
