About the role
In support of its vision, the College’s leadership has committed to establishing a new fundraising strategy and robust advancement program for the College. The College seeks a new Director of Advancement who will further develop and implement the College’s first fundraising strategy, including the establishment of key fundraising programs for the College. The Director will build and nurture strategic relationships within the College community, helping to grow and sustain a culture of philanthropy across the College.
The successful candidate will demonstrate experience in developing and implementing successful philanthropic programs, including annual and planned giving, with a track record in the cultivation and solicitation of major gifts. The ability to build relationships with a variety of stakeholders both internally and externally, and to work collaboratively with others will be key. Alignment with the College’s values of inclusivity, respect and egalitarianism will be fundamental to success.
About the organisation
Burgmann College is a unique university residential community with an egalitarian approach to its structure and a non-hierarchical ethos. Opened in 1971, Burgmann is affiliated with The Australian National University and is situated on its campus. With its 50th anniversary coming up in 2021, the College continues to re-examine the vision and values of its founders—of creating an independent, egalitarian and inclusive home for students of what is now a world top-ranked university —and to shine the light on how Burgmann will continue to be a trailblazer and beacon for supporting young people.
