SSI is a community organisation and social business that supports newcomers and other Australians to achieve their full potential. YOUR CONTRIBUTION

This is an exciting new role that will lead SSI’s Regional Engagement Strategy. A key purpose of this role is to establish and manage high-level stakeholder relationships across regional NSW working collaboratively to create a welcoming environment for migrants to regional communities and to open up new pathways for migrants from the cities or overseas to settle successfully in regional areas. The role will operate within the leadership networks of NSW’s regional communities and bring a practical understanding of economic opportunities and social dynamics. As the strategy has scope to expand SSI’s reach across NSW, the Manager may become responsible for recruiting a team of dedicated personnel in regional communities to embed local place-based initiatives that facilitate engagement between regional communities and migrants.

This role can be based in: Dubbo, Orange, Bathurst, Tamworth, Gunnedah, Armidale, Port Macquarie, Manning Valley (Ke mpsie), Coffs Harbour or Lismore

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for someone with a proven ability to engage regional communities and regional leaders by being relationship-orientated, a strong communicator and a great people leader. You should be results driven and a strategic thinker, with the ability to develop and implement strategies and see them through to successful completion. You will be a problem solver who identifies and understands issues, problems, and opportunities and develops appropriate solutions. Other skills knowledge and experience include:

  • Social Science or Social Work, degree in Community / Business Development, or related tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience
  • Experience leading a strategy
  • Experience working in regional NSW with regional stakeholders
  • Demonstrated knowledge of migrant settlement and integration

Please respond to the “About You” section in your cover letter.
