About the organisation
We are an Australian based charity, working to prevent trafficking and unnecessary separation of vulnerable children from their families in Nepal through various education and empowerment programs. We are registered with Australian Charities and Not for Profit Commission (ACNC) and have been a Deductible Gift Recipient since 2010.
We have been working mainly in the fields of child protection and education since our establishment in 2005 and run the following programs: Education Scholarship Programs with family livelihood support which give children access to education while keeping families together; Sunrise Home which provides a temporary home for children rescued from orphanages or other high-risk or abusive situations until they can be safely reintegrated back into their families; and Reintegration Program which involves tracing, re-connecting and reintegrating children back into their families and communities and supporting them there.
We employ one CEO in Australia, with the remaining staff being Nepalese based in Nepal at SCAI’s in country office.
About the role
This position is responsible for managing bookkeeping and human resource functions required for compliance to all applicable laws.
Bookkeeping, Human Resources/Payroll, and Administration
Process and ensure compliance in day-to-day operations of human resource and payroll duties including PAYG, Super, Workplace Health & Safety, Insurance, any other HR/Tax matters relating to SCAI and its staff in Australia.
Accounting Functions
Someone with accounting experience is preferred, to oversee the accounting operations of the organization, including but not limited to, the financial statements, maintaining a compliant system of accounting records and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- Working knowledge of Xero
- Worked across all payroll and tax functions
- CA or CPA qualified preferred
- Experience with not-for-profits preferred
Bookkeeper may work from home with flexible hours. Anticipated c.1 hr/mth, slightly more at end of Financial Year. Fixed monthly rate will depend on applications experience and qualifications and may range from $40-$60/hr.
