The Women’s and Girls’ Emergency Centre (WAGEC) is a non-government, not-for profit charitable organisation that delivers a range of crisis and early intervention accommodation and support services to women, children, young people, and families who are experiencing, or at risk of homelessness and/or domestic and family violence.

We have operated in Sydney’s inner city and inner west for over 40 years. We currently deliver our Families Service through an alliance with the St Vincent De Paul Society, Jewish House, Wesley Mission and Stepping Out. Other WAGEC activities are delivered in partnership with community, business and government stakeholders.

About the role

38hr/week (some flexibility available)
7 month maternity leave contract
SCHADS 4.1 (salary packaging available)

The Domestic Violence Response Enhancement (DVRE) program provides a crisis and rapid case management response with a focus on assessing immediate needs and finding alternative and safe accommodation for clients who are experiencing domestic and family violence (DFV).

The ACCESS Program creates pathways to training, education and employment opportunities with women who have experienced homelessness and/or domestic violence. This role provides case management and assists with the delivery of ACCESS program activities.

The core responsibilities of this role are:

To engage and provide immediate needs assessment, safety planning, person-centred and trauma informed case management to single women and women with children residing in Temporary Accommodation (TA) who are escaping domestic and family violence in the DVRE Program and single women in the transitional housing program.
Assist with ACCESS program planning and delivery.
Actively contribute to WAGEC’s organisational culture.
