The Organisation

The Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC) is both a place and a movement. As an independent not-for-profit organisation, ASRC programs support and empower people seeking asylum. As a movement, they mobilise and unite communities to create lasting social and policy change.

Today, ASRC are the largest independent human rights organisation for refugees and people seeking asylum, delivering more services on the ground than any other independent asylum seeker organisation in the country.

The Role

Working closely with the Founder/CEO, the General Manager Organisational Development will lead cultural transformation design and delivery of the people (and organisational) development strategies. 
Success in this role will be determined by your ability to:

  • Deliver change management projects in support of the organisation’s strategic and operational plans
  • Provide information, advice and services to the senior leadership team
  • Develop, implement and maintain organisational HR systems and frameworks
  • Nurture a broad range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Empower the HR business partners to support a program of continuous organisational wellbeing improvement, to ensure ASRC achieves its ambition of becoming a high performing, customer centric and mission driven organisation.

You are an integral part of the People and Culture Advisory Committee, and prepare monthly board reports and attend board meetings.

Skills Required

You are currently operating at a senior level in a similar operational organisational development role in a complex organisation championing sustainable HR practices and models.

Importantly, you can demonstrate:

  • Success in enhancing organisational change resulting in significant business improvements
  • Playing a lead role in supporting organisational growth and managing a wide range of projects and internal functions across HR operations
  • Excellent skills in leadership, people management, conflict resolution and stakeholder relationship management
  • Adaptable communication style across a diverse demographic
  • A genuine interest in well-being and creating a positive and ethical working environment.

During your successful career in the not for profit sector, leading charities or like-minded corporates you’ve developed deep understanding of organisational cultures to achieve positive organisational change whilst driving business success.
