Two Youth Mentoring Programs are offered at Jewish Care – The Young Achievers Program (YAP) and Youth Aspire

We are now seeking an enthusiastic and team orientated individual to join the Individual & Family Support team to coordinate and lead the Youth Achievers Program in collaboration with the Coordinator of the Youth Aspire Program. This position is part time and is based in our St Kilda Rd office although most activities are held in Community.  We are looking for a skilled individual who understands the benefits of and values mentoring for young people, particular for those experiencing disadvantage.

 

The key responsibilities of this role are:

  • Coordinate the Young Achievers Program, Workshops and meetings
  • Develop and support the Young Achievers Alumni
  • Recruit, train and provide supervision and coaching to Youth mentors.
  • Work in collaboration with the Youth Mentoring Coordinator
  • Contribute to development of program budgets, donor engagement reporting
  • Participate in Jewish Care quality improvement plans

 

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Passion for working with young people including those who have experienced some disadvantage
  • Tertiary qualifications in youth services or other relevant discipline.
  • Knowledge of appropriate mentoring and coaching frameworks
  • Experience in the coordination and delivery of youth development initiatives
  • Experience working with diverse stakeholders and great problem-solving skills
