About the organisation
Southern Disability Advocacy provides advocacy for individuals with disability. We service the council areas of Port Phillip, Stonnington, Bayside, Glen Eira, Kingston, Frankston and Mornington Peninsula, and are part of the National Disability Advocacy Program, funded by the Commonwealth Department of Social Services.
Our aim is to provide high-quality advocacy services for our client group, reflecting their needs and wishes. We are client-driven.

About the role
The Advocate is responsible for advocating for individuals with disability across a wide range of contexts. The position has an emphasis on ensuring the rights of people with disability through representation and support. The position requires a high standard of personal motivation and ethical conduct.
The expectation of the Program is that the Advocate will have an open and positive attitude towards providing advocacy for people involved with the Program and/or who seek advocacy services. A key to success in the position will be a flexible and energetic approach, underpinned by a ‘can-do-attitude’ and a strong awareness of human rights.
