Commencing operations in 1950, OC Connections Limited is a highly regarded provider of support and employment in the southeast of Melbourne, providing a diverse range of services to enhance the quality of life for people with an intellectual disability, and their families. An integral part of our work is to maximise independence, opportunity and choice to enable people to live as active members of the community.
Today OC Connections provides support to over 400 individuals 15 years old and over in the areas of day support, accommodation, employment, respite and support co-ordination each year.
About the role
OC Connections Limited provides a diverse range of services to enhance the quality of life for people 15 years and over with an intellectual disability, and their families in the south-east of Melbourne. Services are delivered to more than 400 adults in the areas of day support, accommodation, employment, respite and support co-ordination each year.
The Board of OC Connections is seeking a new independent director to help guide the organisation as we continue to transform as a provider of choice to people living with disability. With a renewed direction and strategic plan, an exciting opportunity presents itself for a suitably qualified individual to join the Board as we seek to expand our impact in the communities we serve under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
Along with the requisite skills and experience, preference will be given to candidates who contribute to improving diversity of the Board, reflecting the communities we serve, and those who can demonstrate:
- experience within the disability sector
- a contemporary approach to the disability sector with a strong understanding of the NDIS
- knowledge of the disability services sector stakeholder and community environment
- formal governance experience, GAICD preferred.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to the role, including preparation for and attendance at meetings and to making a difference to improving the lives and opportunities for people living with disabilities. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to visit the organisation and engage in an interview process
