School for Life’s vision is to educate poverty out of existence.  The organisation is built on the joint principles of capacity development and community empowerment. School for Life helps communities to help themselves.
  
School for Life believes in the transformative impact of education and aims to provide a high-quality education to those who need it most. 
  
Established in 2008, School for Life now has over 1,100 students enrolled across 3 schools and employs over 110 locals across all of its educational and related operations in Uganda.
  

The Role
  
Reporting to an inspirational CEO, the Philanthropy Manager is responsible for nurturing and growing School for Life’s pipeline of major donors, corporate partners, trusts and foundation donations and bequests.  Specifically you will:

  • Generate fundraising revenue to meet annually agreed income targets
  • Maintain and grow an active pipeline of major donors
  • Develop new corporate partnerships capability, including an engagement program
  • Lead and manage a new bequest program
  • Provide leadership to the Fundraising Coordinator and volunteers
  • Report on outcomes against agreed targets and KPIs

  

Skills Required
  
You will be a motivated self-starter who enjoys developing relationships both internally and externally and working to targets independently.  You will have experience in a similar fundraising role, creating and managing relationships with high net worth individuals as well as developing commercial partnerships. 
  
A passion for working as part of a strong fundraising culture, delivering an outstanding experience for donors is key, along with a solid understanding of the philanthropic landscape in Australia.
