This is an exciting opportunity to

  • Manage the development and implementation of fundraising campaigns and initiatives at MBS
  • Proactively identify philanthropic opportunities for MBS
  • Manage the implementation of fundraising processes at MBS

The opportunity

The primary responsibility of the Senior Lead is to manage and coordinate the fundraising campaigns and annual fund for MBS. In addition, the role is responsible for managing the operational requirements of the Advancement division. The Senior Lead also researches, reviews and advises for continual improvement.

 The successful candidate will be a creative and confident individual with significant experience in the philanthropic sector. The Senior Lead, Advancement is an ambassador for Melbourne Business School and assists to build the external profile.

Further accountabilities include:

  • Contributory responsibility for planning and executing Advancement events
  • Supporting the Philanthropy and Partnerships, Director in activities related to major donors, Trusts and Foundations and strategic philanthropic partnerships.

About you

Highly motivated and engaged, you are an experienced Advancement practitioner, who has held a similar role, preferably in a fast-paced professional services environment. Exposure to an organisation offering business education is advantageous. You see effective communication with a broad range of people and collaboration as pivotal to successful outcomes.

This will be accompanied by:

  • Demonstrated experience in identifying, developing and implementation fundraising initiatives
  • Sound experience in successful fundraising campaigns and the management of annual giving programs.
  • Expertise in database management.
  • Highly developed written, oral communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Exceptional research and analysis skills with high level of attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to prioritise and juggle competing demands.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including building effective relationships, positive interaction and effective problem solving
  • Willingness and ability to work outside normal working hours on occasion and undertake some travel
  • Relevant tertiary education is preferred
