YOUR CONTRIBUTION
The Junior Data Analyst works closely with the business to deliver valuable outputs that support business strategy and initiatives. This is an exciting new role that will have you exploring and discovering the current data held across the organisation, analysing and generating meaningful insights, including BAU weekly/monthly reporting, monthly updates, incorporating data mining and business skills.
Responsibilities include:
- Monitor weekly data processing programs. Identify problematic areas and conduct research to determine the best course of action to correct the data
- Analyse reports of data quality or other errors to provide ongoing appropriate inter-departmental communication and monthly or daily data reports
- Monitor for timely and accurate completion of extracting data elements
- Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
- Monitor data dictionary statistics
- In collaboration with others, develop and maintain databases and data systems necessary for projects and department functions
- Monitor the process of acquire and abstract primary or secondary data from existing internal or external data sources
- In collaboration with others, develop and implement data collection systems and other strategies that optimise statistical efficiency and data quality
- In collaboration with others, interpret data and develop recommendations based on findings
- Perform basic statistical analyses for projects and reports
ABOUT YOU
To be successful for this role you must hold a degree which includes a substantial number of quantitative modules and relevant experience with demonstrative knowledge of data and information systems. You must have experience with real data and be proficient with data analysis tools such as Excel and SAS, SQL programming experience is also essential to this role. Having an innovative and analytical mind with problem solving capability would be imperative to your success in this role. The ability to use Python, Power Bl and Tableau would also be an advantage.
Although not essential, previous experience working in settlement, social services or NGO sector would be desirable.
