About the role

Safe Futures Foundation is a not for profit Specialist Family Violence Organisation providing frontline services to women and children to help them escape control, abuse and violence and rebuild their lives.  We have been responding to family violence and changing people’s stories for over 40 years.  We operate across 2 main sites in Melbourne’s Eastern suburbs and our new site in the Western region. We are funded by the Department of Health and Human Services.  

The Foundation supports women and children through three key programs:

  • Safe in the Community
  • Intake and Emergency Response – Eastern and Western regions and
  • Community Connect 

Safe Futures is committed to protecting the safety and wellbeing of all children and young people and complies with Victorian child safe standards.

As a result of our growth into the Western Suburbs, we are currently seeking a suitably qualified and experienced case manager for our new, 24 hour state of the art Refuge and Emergency Accommodation service located in Wyndham. The role available is 1x .6 Part-time Case Manager on 12-month fixed term contract. 

About the roles

The Case Manager will be required to complete intake and risk assessments using the MARAM (Multiple Agency Risk Assessment and Management Framework), develop safety and support plans, provide crisis case support for women and children and linking them to community-based services. As a key member of the organisation and service provision, the case manager will develop working relationships with agencies such as DHHS child protection to ensure the safety of the children using the “best Interests” framework. 

The role involves working rostered hours/sleepovers, including weekend and public holidays as well as participating in an ‘on call’ roster and recall to duty if required.

About You

You must hold tertiary level qualifications in Social Work, Psychology or Community Services, and be available to work across a 7-day rotating roster, including weekends, sleepover and on-call. Relevant experience working in a similar position within Family and Domestic Violence is highly desirable, as is your ability to work harmoniously within a supportive and driven environment, whilst ensuring accountability and outcomes are delivered as required under our contracts.

All applicants must have a valid Working with Children’s check, current Drivers Licence and appointment to this position is subject to a National Police check.
