About the organisation

Organisation Name : Anglicare (NSW South, West & ACT) via Big Splash

The core mission of Anglicare (NSW South, West & ACT) is to break the cycle of intergenerational poverty for children, young people, and families. We have a particular focus on serving vulnerable communities in the ACT and in southern and western NSW.

About the role

Maternity Vacancy – 12 months

Anglicare is delivering the Permanency Support Program (PSP) – as part of the significant Out of Home Care reforms in NSW. We seek a temporary PSP Manager – maternity vacancy to commence July 2020- for 12 months- with the Western Foster Care and Kinship Care program. This is a chance to lead a team in trauma-informed, therapeutic case management, and permanency services for children, young people, and their families who have experienced significant adversity. There is also an exciting opportunity to work in partnership with Aboriginal providers to establish an independent Aboriginal PSP Program. This is a real opportunity to support children and young people to heal, thrive, and transform their futures.

Key responsibilities include the provision of leadership to the Case Management, Carer Support, and Restoration teams. This includes the support and supervision of staff to meet the care needs of children and young people, while addressing quality and compliance in the delivery of the Permanency Support Program. Demonstrated experience of working in culturally affirmative ways with Aboriginal young people, their families, and communities is essential. The applicant will also have a strong understanding of local Aboriginal culture and the issues which impact Indigenous Australians.

The successful applicant requires a tertiary degree qualification in Psychology, Social Work, or related discipline. A minimum of five years’ experience working with Children and Young People in OOHC is required.

Attractive salary package, negotiable and dependant on experience and qualifications. Generous salary packaging benefits are available under Anglicare’s PBI status.
