Dementia Australia is the national peak body representing the 459,000 Australians living with dementia and almost 1.6 million Australians involved in their care. Formed in 2017 after bringing together all state and territory organisations, Dementia Australia advocates for the needs of people living with all types of dementia, for their families and carers, and provides support services, education and information. The organisation supports the countries top dementia researchers to find treatments, disease altering interventions and one day a cure. They are committed to achieving a dementia-friendly Australia where people with dementia are respected, supported, empowered, and engaged in community life.

Dementia Australia’s fundraising team requires a Philanthropy Specialist with proven success in grant writing, developing high quality submissions for funding and nurturing stakeholder relationships with philanthropic trusts and foundations. Reporting to the Senior Manager Philanthropy & Research, this integral role will identify philanthropic trust and foundation prospects and initiate and develop relationships with Grants Managers, Trustees, Donors and Supporters.

By leveraging the current network of active support and researching potential opportunities, you will foster partnerships, match funding needs with philanthropic interests, develop a pipeline and contribute to a conversion plan. You will maintain a comprehensive and up-to-date grants calendar to ensure funding applications are submitted within required timelines, prepare reports and co-ordinate the acquittal process.

You will be an experienced and highly organised Philanthropy Specialist with excellent grant writing skills and attention to detail. A strong understanding of fundraising and knowledge of the philanthropic landscape is essential.
