Social Ventures Australia (SVA) is a social purpose organisation that works with partners to improve the lives of people in need in Australia by helping businesses, governments and philanthropists to be more effective funders and social purpose organisations to be more effective at delivering services. SVA’s Impact Investing team provides socially oriented organisations with a combination of capital and support to help them achieve social impact.
SVA is a leader in the Australian Impacting Investing market with a unique mandate to deliver risk-adjusted returns to its investors alongside measurable social impact. This broad mandate covers unlisted debt, private equity, real assets, and infrastructure investments. SVA launched Australia’s first Social Impact Bond in 2013 and is now one of the largest dedicated fund managers in the growing sector. In addition to funds management, SVA offers structuring and advisory services to its clients in order to develop and bring Impact Investment products to the market.
This exciting permanent position sits within SVA’s Impact Investing team and works with a wide-ranging mix of internal and external stakeholders in providing operational support with day to day fund management; taking finance and administration requirements for transactions through to completion, and for the provision of efficient back-of-house operations. The scope of this role is wide-ranging, from supporting treasury management to maintaining financial models. You will also support investor relations, including reporting to investors, preparing distributions, and dealing with investor queries, and get involved in the launch of new funds and Social Impact Bonds.
Who you are
If you have a strong eye for detail, are driven by excellence and have some knowledge in funds management processes in an investment environment, this is the role for you. The ideal candidate will have foundational experience in general finance concepts ideally with a focus on impact investing, together with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office. An understanding of working in registry administration, fund administration, financial services or accounting will be an advantage.
