ABOUT THE PROGRAM

SSI has recently been advised of our successful tender to deliver the National Disability Insurance Scheme Partners in the Community Program (PITC), in the South West Sydney and Sydney districts, for the next three years. The program provides for Local Area Coordination (LAC) services to assist Participants in developing or reviewing support plans as well as extensive work in the community to promote inclusion and opportunities for people to access mainstream service. SSI is required to commence the transition of support services from 1st July 2020 with full-service delivery from 1st October 2020.

The PITC Program in SSI will cover the fourteen local government areas in South Western Sydney and Sydney Metro Area’s with a team of over 200 people including Local Area Coordinators and other management, administration and support staff located at a range of sites across each area.

YOUR CONTRIBUTION

The Training Manager will work closely with the training coordinator, and NDIA to implement learning programs and activities that will support the LAC team in providing exceptional service to people with a disability.

The Training Manager will be responsible for the development and delivery of the LAC training portfolio designed to support the development of the LAC team to ensure exceptional service to Participants and community members across South West Sydney and Sydney Districts.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Training Coordinator to develop and implement learning strategies, design training plans, program outlines and session plans.
  • Undertake ongoing evaluation and reporting on LAC learning and development activities for continuous improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with the NDIA training Manager to define the capability requirements and learning needs of all employees of the LAC Program.
  • Works with managers to address training gaps specific to LAC functions.
  • Meet regularly with Senior leadership team to set priorities and check progress against NDIA and LAC training goals.
  • Work in partnership with SSI People and Culture team to develop, coordinate and deliver the induction program for all new LAC Program employees.
  • Monitor, track and maintain the program training budget, including variance reporting, challenges or issues to the Operations Manager.
  • Provide leadership and supervision to the training coordinator, including support and supervision and regular Achieve meetings.

ABOUT YOU

You will have qualification in human services, adult learning/education, training or other related qualifications along with experience in design, delivery and evaluation of training both face to face and online as well as experience in managing projects and budgets.

Ideally you will have excellent knowledge of contemporary, evidence-based learning and the ability to build rapport and work collaboratively both internal and external stakeholders are key to achieving outcomes.

As the LAC programs grows and changes, you will be required to be flexible and adaptable.

Demonstrated understanding of the National Disability Insurance Scheme, disability care and community sector will be an advantage as would training experience in the NDIS PITC Program.

This role does involve travel, please note that a valid driver’s licence and willingness to undertake regular tr avel will be required.
