Who we are
Social Ventures Australia (SVA) is a social purpose organisation that works with partners to improve the lives of people in need in Australia by helping businesses, governments and philanthropists to be more effective funders and social purpose organisations to be more effective at delivering services. SVA’s Impact Investing team provides socially oriented organisations with a combination of capital and support to help them achieve social impact.

SVA is a leader in the Australian Impacting Investing market with a unique mandate to deliver risk-adjusted returns to its investors alongside measurable social impact. The Impact Investing team’s mandate covers unlisted debt, private equity, real assets, and infrastructure investments. At time of writing, SVA manages (or is involved in the management of) 3 funds (the $15M Diversified Impact Fund, the $70M+ Social Impact Investment Trust and the recently launched Synergis Fund) and 4 Social Impact Bonds. In addition to this, SVA’s impact investing team provides capacity building support to social enterprises through its Upscaler initiative.

The position
This exciting permanent position sits within SVA’s Impact Investing team and plays an important role in an exciting growth phase for the business. Working directly with the Impact Investing team of Directors and Managers, the primary focus of this role to support SVA’s Social Impact Investment Trust and Synergis Fund. The role will focus on supporting property related investment of the above Funds, across the areas of social, affordable and disability housing. In addition, the role provides exposure to SVA’s other funds, social impact bonds and social enterprise capacity building and you may work on the establishment of new impact investment products. The scope of this role is wide-ranging, from developing transactions, including company, market and sector analysis, to building and maintaining financial models. You will also support investor relations, including reporting to investors by undertaking due diligence and transaction negotiations.

Who you are
If you have a strong eye for detail, are driven by excellence and have advanced skills in financial modelling and credit analysis, this is the role for you. The ideal candidate will have foundational experience in general finance concepts ideally with a focus on impact investing, together with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office. An understanding of the fundamentals of commercial property principals, lending, and the property market is an advantage.
