About the organisation

Organisation Name : Housing for the Aged Action Group

Housing for the Aged Action Group is a member-based community organisation that has been striving for housing justice for 35 years.  We run a housing information service for older people, Home at Last, which provides information and outreach support to people aged 50 and older who are at risk of homelessness.

About the role

Join our small housing support team providing information, referral and support for older people seeking long-term affordable and secure housing.  Great conditions, supportive team, satisfying work contributing to changing the lives of older people in housing stress.

We are seeking an enthusiastic housing support worker to join our intake and referral team at Home at Last.  You will be providing over the phone information and referral to older people across Victoria.  During COVID-19 lockdown, there will be no face-to-face work with clients and you will need the ability to work from home.  You will have high levels of empathy for older people in stressful housing situations and a professional manner with service providers.  Knowledge of the housing sector, including public and social housing, and the health or community services sector is desirable.    Experience in case management and working within community member-based organisations will be an advantage.

HAAG is committed to recruiting a diverse range of people with a diverse range of talents to help us achieve our goals. We encourage  applications from culturally and linguistically diverse, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals.  The ability to speak a community language other than English is an advantage.

Housing for the Aged Action Group provides generous salary and conditions.
