About the role

Who we’re looking for
EACH NDIS Services are rapidly growing in Southern Melbourne. Are you wanting to join a high functioning team, where you are appreciated for your work and have the satisfaction of knowing that you are making a difference?

Due to the growth in the area, we are scaling up and as part of this transition we are seeking an experienced Specialist Support Coordinator, who will have supervisory responsibilities of up to 10 staff supported by a Team Leader.

This is an excellent opportunity if you are wanting to hone your skills for a future team leader position. You will have a supportive and positive style, be able to work autonomously, have excellent time management and organisational skills to maintain your own caseload. The role requires that you have demonstrated experience and knowledge in supporting people with complex needs or disabilities, as well as supervisory experience. Experience working in the Mental Health sector would be desirable but not essential.

A relevant tertiary qualification ie Bachelor of Social Work, Psychology, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology or other allied health. Registration with professional body is not required.

 

What you’ll be doing
The Support Coordinator – Specialist assists customers with complex needs to build personal capacity to make decisions and choices about the implementation of all supports in their NDIS plan , including mainstream, informal, community and funded supports. The position also focuses on the provision of high-quality engagement strategies with potential and new customers, building local networks and partnerships and acting as the key liaison point for all related services chosen by the individual.

The Specialist Support is time limited and Support Coordinators delivering Specialist Support focus on addressing barriers and reducing complexity in the support environment whilst also assisting the customer to connect with NDIS and other supports, negotiate solutions with multiple stakeholders and build capacity and resilience.
The role, using specialist background in Allied Health or Social Work, provides Specialist Support Coordination within a specialist framework necessitated by specific high-level risks in the customers situation.

 

Who you’ll be working with
The position works with EACH customer to initiate their NDIS plan and develop their skills and confidence to manage their NDIS plan independently. The aim is to assist the customer to build their own capability to take ownership of the Support Coordination function over time.
