Union Organiser (10-month maternity leave replacement)

The National Tertiary Education Union (NTEU) Victorian Division is seeking a highly motivated, member-focused individual with experience in organising, recruitment, and campaigning, either in a trade union or in social justice organisations. The successful applicant will be committed to building the trade union movement.

The position is a full-time Organiser Level 5/6 position.

The National Tertiary Education Union (Victorian Division) covers staff employed in universities, associated companies, research institutes, TAFE, student unions, and adult and community education. The Union’s membership includes Academic, General, Research, and professional staff.

The successful candidate will initially be based on the NTEU RMIT University and VU Branch offices located in the City and Footscray Park respectively. You will be assigned a mix of duties, including, as part of a team, taking responsibility for the completion of organising, campaigning, and administrative tasks or projects at the Branch level and state-wide. You may be allocated to other NTEU branches in Victoria from time to time.

This position is available immediately as a fixed-term, 10-month maternity leave replacement. It will be filled at NTEU Level 5/6 ($83,623 – $103,497), plus 17% employer superannuation contributions.
