We are currently seeking applications for a part-time/full-time (0.6 – 1.0 FTE) Communications Manager to join our Orygen Digital team. This position is fixed term and available for 12 months with the possibility of renewal dependent on funding.

Based at Parkville, you will initially commence work remotely from home. All applications will be accepted within the state. You must have confidential home office space and reliable internet connection.

As the Communications Manager, you will play a critical role in the growth and development of the division, and oversee internal and external communications. You will be responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of communications and marketing strategies that raise the profile of Orygen Digital and align with Orygen’s overall communications and marketing approach.

This role will also be a critical point of connection between the Orygen Digital team and Orygen’s Communications, Marketing and Fundraising team and will work collaboratively with this team to ensure strong communications, brand awareness, media relations, stakeholder engagement results, and fundraising outcomes.
Supporting the Associate Director and Director of Orygen Digital in the development, refinement and delivery of an over-arching communications and stakeholder engagement strategy, your role will particularly focus on the roll-out of our Moderated Online Social Therapy (MOST) platform.

As a guide, remuneration of $110,000 – $130,000 per annum pro rata is offered, dependent on skills and experience; NFP generous salary sacrificing opportunities are also available to the successful candidate.

About you

Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (marketing, communications, public relations, journalism or business).
Extensive relevant experience in marketing, communications or brand strategy.
A demonstrated passion for social impact (ideally in a health or youth context).
Excellent written and verbal communications skills (with proven ability to translate complex scientific ideas into plain language).
Familiarity with a wide range of digital marketing tools and channels (including website development and social media).
Solid understanding of stakeholder engagement and fundraising.
A positive attitude, strategic mindset and outstanding attention to detail.
Ability to network and build trusted relationships and collaborate well across teams.
Highly developed project management and organisational skills and the ability to work under
pressure in a team environment to meet deadlines.
Strong examples of previous written work that highlights your creative strategic and communications abilities.
