About the Team
The Victorian Division is part of the Member Experience Business Unit which is responsible for ensuring the voice of the member is represented in all CPA Australia’s activities. The Member Experience Business Unit works closely with all other parts of the organisation and has responsibility for the Australian and New Zealand Divisional offices, building and maintaining relationships with members, employers and other stakeholders, designing and coordinating member events, providing comprehensive and personalised membership services, and driving and supporting transformational change.
About the Role
Reporting to the General Manager Divisional Delivery, the General Manager, Victorian Division will be responsible for the strategic and operational functioning of the Divisional office, the Divisional Council, regional branches and related committees. The Victorian Division exists to serve, engage and add value to members and enhance CPA’s reputation and brand by implementing the organisation’s strategy at a local level. In support of key strategic objectives, the Division also develops and maintains relationships with key accounts across various sectors.
Responsibilities
- Be a brand advocate and build CPA’s profile and awareness of overall products and services through the creation and maintenance of strategic external relationships.
- Support the Divisional Council to undertake its role effectively within the governance structure of CPA Australia including advice and support to the Council President.
- Provide service and value to members through relevant communication, events and activities to support the career life cycle of members.
- Ensure the stakeholder network in Victoria is supported, including regional branches, discussion groups and Council Committees.
- With the Relationship Managers, work closely with the GM Acquisition to ensure the delivery of the organisation’s agreed account-based plans.
- Ensure all Divisional staff maintain knowledge of CPA Australia’s offer for members.
- Ensure effective and efficient management of Divisional resources including oversight of staff, budgets and facilities.
Key Selection Criteria
To be set up for success in this role you will need to demonstrate the following:
- Senior management experience in a similar role ideally in an association/member-based organisation.
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills across varying levels (e.g. members, volunteers, key employers, peers).
- Experience with account planning and supporting member growth and retention strategies.
- Experience in supporting boards or committees and knowledge of good governance practices.
- Ability to deal with complex situations involving competing interests and stakeholders.
- Experience managing high performing and cross functional teams.
