About the role

  • Leading community services organisation

  • Two full time positions; one ongoing & one maximum term to November 2021 (parental leave replacement)
  • Based at Mount Waverley

As part of our Homelessness Services Program, the HOPE (Housing Options Program Eastern) team provides early intervention outreach support to families, single adults and couples who are homeless, or at risk of homelessness. The team assists clients to access and maintain housing, and address the support needs that contributed to their homelessness.

The HOPE Transitional Support Worker provides engaging case management support to clients from a diverse range of backgrounds, helping them to break the cycle of homelessness. The role is co-located at DHHS and Centrelink offices for 2 days per week and undertakes transitional support duties for 3 days per week.

About you

To be successful in your application you will meet the person specification in the position description, including having a Diploma of Community Services, Welfare Work or a related discipline. A Bachelor or Master of Social Work qualification would be advantageous.

You will also have:

  • Previous experience within the homelessness services sector or community housing
  • Demonstrated experience in case management
  • An understanding of the Victorian Residential Tenancies Act
  • Knowledge of the Specialist Homelessness Information Platform (SHIP)
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
