From providing high quality housing to an innovative range of support, education and employment services, we bring solutions to homelessness under one roof for thousands at risk of, or experiencing the crisis and trauma of homelessness. With over 400 staff working across 14 locations in metropolitan Melbourne, we combine direct action with advocacy, research and innovation to drive widespread change.

About the role

  • Permanent Part-time (68.4 hours per fortnight)
  • $72,208 per annum (pro-rata) + Super
  • Additional Wellbeing Leave and Salary Packaging
  • Flexible working environment
  • Great Collingwood location, close to public transport, shops and cafes
  • Occassionally working across St Kilda & Cheltenham locations

The Accommodation Options for Families (AOF) Worker will deliver targeted case management housing and support services to families and children who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness.

In this challenging yet fulfilling role, you will be responsible for providing outreach services that assess, monitor and evaluate the housing and support needs of a case-load of families and children, assisting them to move from inappropriate, unsafe or unaffordable rooming house accommodation into short-term accommodation, or select private rental, with a view to assisting them into long-term sustainable housing.

You will also assist in linking families with appropriate long-term support services and encourage those families to positively engage in their communities of choice.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will hold a valid drivers license. You will also be committed to making a difference in vulnerable families’ lives. You will have a comprehensive understanding of the prevalence of domestic violence, its’ impact on families and children, and you will also be familiar with how the child protection system works. Working in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team that uses innovative housing practices, this exciting and challenging position offers applicants the opportunity to build and empower the lives of people experiencing homelessness
