About the organisation
Djirra is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation (ACCO) that works towards a future where all Aboriginal women are strong, safe, independent, healthy and positive in their lives, culture and communities. All Djirra’s work is designed by and for Aboriginal women and is deeply respectful of and connected to community. Self-determination is the foundation of everything we do: it is Our Cultural Way.
About the role
Djirra is an Aboriginal community controlled organisation supporting Aboriginal women who have experienced family violence. Djirra has funding from Working For Victoria to trial an extension of our hours so that women can get help beyond 5pm.
We’re looking for Aboriginal women who want to support other Aboriginal women to fill our newly created roles of ‘Djirra Connect Workers’. This role will be the first point of contact and help for Aboriginal women seeking help because of family violence. These roles are available either full time or part time and roles are fixed term to end of October 2021 (with possible extension, depending on funding).
If you’re an Aboriginal woman, are keen to work with other Aboriginal women, and are interested in community services, then please take a look!
