About the organisation
Women’s Health East is the women’s health promotion agency for the Eastern Metropolitan Region (EMR) of Melbourne. We improve health outcomes for women across the seven local government areas of Yarra Ranges, Knox, Maroondah, Manningham, Monash, Whitehorse and Boroondara. Women’s Health East also influences women’s health and wellbeing at a statewide and national level.
Working within an intersectional feminist framework, Women’s Health East address the social, cultural, economic, political and environmental factors impacting on the health, safety and wellbeing of women in the region. We build the capacity of organisations, services and programs in the region to optimally address issues affecting women.

Women’s Health East is entering an exciting time of change. WHE is currently working from home with the likelihood of a staged return to the office environment in early 2021. It is likely that the future work environment will include a mix of working from home and working from the office. Our office is in Doncaster East VIC 3109.
The Manager Health Promotion (MHP) is a member of Women’s Health East’s Leadership Team and plays a key strategic role in the organisation. The position has the following components:
- Contribute to and support the achievement of WHE’s strategic and operational goals
- Provide support to the CEO and to WHE business operations as required
- Develop and maintain strategic partnerships and relationships
- Lead and manage the health promotion and communications functions of the organisation including the WHE health promotion plan
- Supervision and management of staff
As a member of the Leadership Team, the MHP will actively contribute to the organisation’s strategic, and operational plans and stakeholder engagement strategies. The MHP will represent WHE at strategic meetings, networks and forums. The MHP will deputise for the CEO as required and contribute to business operations.
