About the Role
Establish yourself as the “go-to” finance person within this project team, as you will be responsible for tracking all outcomes and expenditure of funds under various high-value contracts. Reporting to the Program Director and the National Finance Team who are located interstate, you will need to be fairly adaptable and self-motivated in order to succeed within this fast-paced project team environment. You will be exposed to exciting and meaningful programs, and work alongside a highly effective and experienced team of professionals.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Record and report on all budget expenditure under various high-value government contracts
  • Work closely with program managers to track purchase orders and project activity costs against budgets
  • Act as key point of contact between the national finance team and local program managers
  • Prepare weekly, monthly and ad hoc acquittal reporting as required for the project team, finance team and program sponsors
  • Assist with the entry and administration of data into the existing project controls system
  • Other duties to support the project as required

Skills & Experience required

  • You will need to have strong financial reporting acumen, problem solving skills and a passion for working with numbers as this will be the primary function of your role
  • Highly competent in the use of Microsoft Excel for reporting purposes
  • Background in project administration, procurement or finance highly advantageous though open to other relevant skills and experience
  • An adaptable and positive attitude is essential as you will be working in a reactive project environment that is constantly changing
  • The ability to translate complex financial information in a way that is meaningful and easily understood
  • Strong time management skills and someone who can work with minimal direction

This is a national health-focused Not-for-Profit organisation, who are focused on supporting people affected by disease and those at risk with access to information and advice on prevention and management. They are responsible for driving key research programs, which supports advocacy and various programs nationally. The Brisbane office has a relatively small team of dedicated and high performing professionals, with a relatively flat structure and a dynamic, agile project environment.
