We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced social worker to join our Child and Family Services Program. The position is part time, maximum term until 30 June 2021, working 4 days per week across two rewarding roles:
- Senior Family Services Practitioner – 2 days per week
- Mother Safe Child Safe Coordinator – 2 days per week
The Family Services Program supports families who are experiencing high levels of stress and difficulties that impact on parenting, family life and children’s well being. Responding to referrals from Child FIRST, the program provides assertive outreach and home based supports.
The Mother Safe Child Safe Program offers a range of group work activities for women and children who have experienced, or are experience family violence. As Coordinator you will develop, facilitate and evaluate therapeutic group work programs.

About you
To be successful in your application you will meet the person specification in the position description, including having a degree qualification in social work or other relevant discipline.
You will also have:
- Sound understanding of the Best Interests Framework and Children, Youth and Families Act 2005
- Extensive experience as a practitioner in the child, youth and family welfare field
- Demonstrated experience working with women and children affected by family violence
- The ability to utilise a family-centered and family strengthening approach to case management
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
