About the role
The role of the (Intake)/NESS Worker is to provide person-centred information, timely support to people living with epilepsy, and to identify the need for additional support through the development of an Initial Needs Assessment. The (Intake)/NESS worker will be responsible for arranging referrals both internal and external, to the Epilepsy Foundation (EF), sector partners or other agencies.
The Epilepsy NESS Worker delivers information, initial support and other related services to individuals and families living with epilepsy, sector staff and general enquiries. In particular this role has the following key duties to perform:
• Respond to requests for information and general enquiries through the National Epilepsy Support Service (NESS) – utilising up to date information and best practice guidelines where available.
• Refer more complex matters to Service Delivery Partners, Epilepsy Support Workers (ESW), Education and Training staff and other agencies as required
• Develop and maintain accurate client information, service provider details and referral pathways.
