The Australian Clinical Trials Alliance (ACTA) is a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee, established to promote the role of investigator‐initiated clinical trials and clinical quality registries to inform decisions made by health practitioners, policymakers and consumers, to ensure effective and cost‐effective healthcare in Australia. ACTA plays a key role in engaging with the clinical trial networks, trial coordinating centres and clinical quality registries around the country to seek ways to improve the environment that underpins trials conducted within Australia’s healthcare system.
Reporting to the CEO and leading a team, the Program & Operations Manager is responsible for providing program leadership to ensure the delivery of ACTA’s Strategic and Activity Plans, and managing all business and operational requirements of the organisation.
The Program & Operations Manager will lead and oversee all areas of program management and operations including financial management, governance and compliance, human resources, risk management, organisational planning and business development, IT and systems, and privacy and data management. The role will contribute to the development of ACTA’s Strategic Plan and budget, annual Activity Plans and work plans and deliverables for multiple projects, as well as lead tender processes and contracts with external service providers. You will lead, support and develop the Project team, as well as manage and coordinate the operations of ACTA’s Reference Groups, Volunteers, working groups and other stakeholders.
This pivotal and hands-on leadership role requires proven experience in program and operations delivery, plus demonstrated experience in team management, project management and strategic planning. You will be a problem solver with excellent communication skills, attention to detail, a can-do attitude, initiative, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Financial and commercial acumen is essential, along with understanding of compliance, governance and risk frameworks.
Experience in a similar senior level role in in not-for-profit industry associations and knowledge of the Australian health sector, would be an advantage. Tertiary qualifications in business management, medical research, public policy, operations or project management is desirable.
