AEF are seeking a new Chief Executive Officer who is able to consolidate the growth achieved and drive the Vision of the organisation forward to capitalise on current and future market opportunities.
About the role
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced, strategically minded, authentic and visionary leader, who has strong business development and sophisticated stakeholder skills to lead an organisation at the forefront of finding practical solutions to climate change. This CEO role combines the requirement to provide strategic direction aligned to growth, alongside operational and program delivery expertise that enhances AEF’s reputation with government, corporate and community partners and stakeholders. Key to your success will be your understanding of the drivers of government and corporate decision-making and the capacity to present and convert compelling ‘commercial propositions’ to potential funding bodies and partners in a rapidly changing operating environment. The new Chief Executive will build upon the high-performance culture, future-focused and practical approach to reducing the impact of climate change that AEF has become known for whilst scaling up its national footprint. As the ‘face and voice’ of AEF you will pro-actively seek opportunities to raise the profile of the organisation through various media channels to reach more audiences and be able to identify and convert opportunities for growth and/or partnership.
Tertiary qualifications, experience within a relevant industry or sector and alignment to the values of the AEF are minimum requirements to be considered for this position. You’ll be courageous leader, not afraid to take calculated risks, who is inclusive, collaborative and credible, able to engage and communicate with influence across senior government, corporate and community audiences and potential partners. Your track record will confirm success in securing financial support across these sectors and moreover, creating financially sustainable organisations. You will lead by example and take a genuine interest in developing people, reflected by your reputation for building teams that are engaged, aligned, and focused on high performance. Able to work with ambiguity within a resource constrained and competitive environment, you will take a pro-active and solution-focused approach to your work by setting the tone of a healthy, positive and accountable workplace culture.
