Your new role
As a Victims Support Worker (Intake & Response), you will be responsible for:
– Undertaking initial needs assessment with victims of violent crime, including urgency of need, risk, appropriate referrals (internal & external) and follow-up assessments & actions.
– Providing centre-based, outreach and co-located practical supports for victims of violent crime including: assessment, case plan development, advocacy, education and referral, including the use of brokerage funds as directed and appropriate.
– Providing of a range of mental health and well-being supports on a continuum that include psychological first aid, safety planning or risk assessment through to assisted referral and formal therapeutic interventions.
– Liaising with internal and external services to maintain relevant links and networks to strengthen services to victims of violent crime.
